6-Speed Transmission Lockup??

Has anyone had a problem with their 6-speed locking up? Mine did at home in driveway (thank goodness). Couldn't get it in any gear. After I finally did and don't know how, couldn't get it out of gear... Had it towed by Chevy and is being fixed now. They called me and said clutch pressure plate went bad, etc and they pretty much replaced it all. Said fluid was black and obviously was burned??
Any feedback greatly appreciated, Rocky

Never had this but have heard about this once before... I change my clutch fluid though too.
