I need to purchase a new expansion tank with the date code(letter code) but not sure where this comes from.Any suggestions! Here's my VIN#10867S102014.

With the first five numbers 10867 wasn't the car built January 8th, 67th vehicle to leave the assembly line? I still don't know where Oct 25, 1960 comes from?

10867 is the body style designation for a 1961 Corvette; "S" signifies the St. Louis assemby plant, and 102014 means it's the 2014th 1960 Corvette built. You can determine the build date of your car based on the VIN (accurate to within a day or two) from the NCRS "Birthday Book" or from the Birthday Decoder on the Wisconsin NCRS Chapter website at http://www.ncrswi.bizland.com .

So which date code should i go with? (60J) or (60k).

Hey Terry. I don't know if you are familiar with John Z or not but you'd be hard pressed to get any better information on these old Vettes anywhere else.
