Got out to visit, and behold...the painter has gone to PRIME Time... This is the FIRST coat of primer/filler. Next stop is block/sand, clean, then next step another coat of primer...then we let it cure.

So here are the photos I took about an hour ago. Things are really coming together and you can finally see all hard work that went into replacing and aligning body panels and all that hard work on the body, including the long list of suprises that we found under the tons of paint that was removed. I am very happy with the results and each day getting more and more excited over getting to the finish line.

Looks like we are STILL on track for Carlisle and its going to be real real close....here are the photos...

This is the car after priming but still needs to get blocked and sanded...

Looks great. Hope you make the show. What is your primer strategy? Epoxy/sealer then high build primer?

How's the progress coming? Do you have later pics on another posting? Looks great so far.:upthumbs Hopefully all is going as planned for you and you are on schedule with your target date.:beer

Well the target date is pushed back, and will not make Carlisle this year:(

We ran into some problems in the drivers side door jambs that required some glassing, so it was determined to do it right we needed more time and chose not to put a deadline forcing us to quickly do this car. Instead we decided to take a much more cautious approach, that would strech it beyond Carlisle for a few days.

In addition we did some extra block sanding and more sealing/priming. The car's body is now perfect.

I hope to get some photos next week and will post. We now are targeting Ocean City, early October for is debut.....

Thanks for asking...:beer

You're doing it smart like 67Heaven. Taking your time and doing it right. Can't wait to see the pictures when it's done, it'll be perfect!:D . It sure pays to take your time and do it right the first time, it'll show in the finished product. Thanks for replying so quick, good luck . We'll be looking for the pics!;) :upthumbs

The car was originally Sebring Silver and it will be Sebring Silver...FYI we removed 12 coats of paint, at one time this car was bright metalic blue, maroon, black, white, and silver....its been a very look and hard (expensive) restoration, but finally its coming together...follow my future restoration reports....or search backward to see the updates....

Thanks Collin.

Hey the car should be faster just by virtue of having 12 coats of paint removed!! :L

I will follow your progress and wish you well.
