I recently purchased a 64 and need some help with how to install the cat whiskers on the door panels that help support the side windows. The panels did not have any installed when I got the car so I have no idea what hardware/etc may be required. Please point me in the right direction.

They're stapled on. Tough if not impossible to do "as the factory did it", because we don't have access to a HD stapler that will go through metal.
What to do? You can buy SS staples from just about all the catalogs. I get a bottle of "white out" and put a dab on the tip of both staple ends to mark the whisker piece. I then use a drill bit and drill holes through the whisker piece and the metal of the door panel. Install the staples and bend them over.
If you're not "into" factory correct installation, many simply pop rivet them in place. Chuck
