I need the measurement for the side emblem (above the front vents) . .how high above the fender crease and how far in front of the door edge of the fender. It looks like the 63 would be the same but the 65-67 looks to be a different placement although its hard to tell from the pictures I have. Thanks!!!

I would like to know the answer to this one for a 65 myself....the assembly manual is not much help???

From edge of door to the bottom of the v is 18 1/4"From the crease in fender to bottom of v is 1 1/2"
From top of vent to bottom of v is 4"

Hope this helps

Dave:

If no one answers by tomorrow, I will take some measurements off my 65 and post them for you.

Thanks - thats what I needed . . . just wanted confirmation that my estimate from photographs was accurate . . and I was pretty close but I'll go with your measurements! JIM

18 1/4" from door to bottom of "v" could not be right . . maybe 15 1/4" . . could someone with a 63 or 64 please verify.

No hit 1963 had the following dimensions:

Door edge to bottom of "V" = 14 3/4"

Crease of fender to bottom of "V" = 1 1/2"

Top edge of fake fender vent to bottom of "V" = 4"

Eugene

Thanks Eugene . . . even from my pictures I could tell that 18 1/4 couldnt be right. Always get two opinions before you start up that drill!

Sorry guys, I measured again and it's still 18 1/4". I wasn'y trying to mislead you. Why the difference, no body problems here either?

It's interesting how there are different measurements. The factory workers must have done some "eyeballing" when installing the emblems. I can't get to the drivers side to check but I did just measure the passenger side and it measured 14 15/16" from the door opening fender edge to the bottom of the V.
Also a no-hit car.

Yeah it is amazing how much variance there can be . .and yeah I remember you ol' blue - you're the one that figured out that line lock stumper!!!

OK, you made me go look. '64, no hit body. Drivers side from door to bottom of V measures 15 7/8 and 1 1/2 up from belt line. Now to make things really confusing, passenger side 16 1/8 from door to bottom of V. Sounds like they mostly eye-balled this thing. Guess I assumed the holes were in the jig and formed with the part. Guess I assumed wrong!:confused

My early Oct. 63 built '64 with a never hit, never painted, never had the emblems off, body measures 15 13/16" and 1 9/16" on the drivers side. The car is on a lift right now so I couldn't measure the pass side lcocation.
