Ok guys.. the book shows special tool xyz-12345 to remove this bad boy... my fuel leak is NOT at the hose but at the flange.. I have a new Doughnut of sealage.. but I do not want to mangle this sender getting it out.

HEELLLPPPPPP!

I have had good luck using a thin bladed screw driver and tapping the "ears" in a counter-clockways direction with a small hammer. Go slow and tap lightly against the flat of the screw driver. Don't use it like a chisel. When the flange begins to move it will have a tendency to move off-center so switch "ears" often. Also make sure the tank is completely empty so you don't get a face full of gas.

Good Luck

I use a 3/4" diameter brass drift - easy to engage the tangs, and no sparks at either the sender or hammer end :beer
