I am in the final stages of my rear suspension rebuild and have decided to change out my park brake cables while I am at it. I seem to be having problems finding both cables (L & R). Most corvette parts handlers (Zip, Corvette America, etc) are only showing a Left hand side cable. I spoke to someone at a local GM dealer and he said the Right Hand cable has been discontinued.

What are other Midyear drivers doing to replace their cables ?

I'm confused. The rear parking brake cable goes from one side to the other through a common centerpiece.

There is no left or right. (I just remembered that your car has drum brakes, so there may indeed be a difference from my '67.)

Try Long Island

Hi 67Heaven !!

On the 64 (read drum brakes) the cables are separate. One is longer than the other and they are joined with a coupler. The cable on the longer side goes through a bracket that connects to the linkage system which in turn connects to the front cable assemble. I am wondering of some folks have changed over to the one piece cable that is used on later models.

Paragon has the RH drum brake rear cables - their #5802, $25.00; Doc Rebuild and Corvette Central also have them.
