got the car painted and they put the doors back on before i got a chance to get the door weatherstrip on...the doors fit great and i don't really want to pull them off to put the new weatherstrip on...can i get good results by gluing the new on, taping it down good with masking tape, then shutting the doors?...anyone have any tips?...thanks

If the in-out position of the doors (shims between the door-side hinges and door inner panel reinforcement) hasn't been changed from what it was before they removed the doors, it shouldn't create a problem. The doors may be hard to close until the new weatherstrips take their final "set" with the doors closed.

If they added shims to move the doors outboard to fit them without the weatherstrips, you'll just have to re-fit the doors to compensate for the pressure of the weatherstrips.

fred have the weather strip glue remover handy when you put the weather strips on I know I got it all over the place when I was doing mine and I was being carefull

Color!

Fred, I'm almost embarassed to post this but when you buy your weatherstriping adhesive...... make sure it's black. I didn't look for the color on the first two tubes I bought for my doors and was I surprised when it came out yellow. This made for yet another trip to the auto parts store......
