65 hood "hump" correcting

1965 nassau blue convertible
hi...redoing a '65 small block...and in the process of bodywork...when fitting the hood on, it's even at the front and the back where it is adjacent to the fender, but higher up in the mid section...anyone know a trick to correct the fit?...blocks, maybe?
 
I see lots of midyears like that (including mine) - I don't worry about it any more - neither did St. Louis :eyerole
 
If it's really bad, or you are really fussy about details, a lot of people remove the hood, support it at the corners, and put weights on the hump for a few days - until you get a permanent "plastic" flow in the material. The physics of the situation (as explained by my physics teacher) can be verified by leaving a straight piece of glass rod leaning against a wal for a few years. When you pick it up, it is no longer straight. Gravity has put a curve in the rod.
