I am in need of an alternator for my 67 427/400 T.I, a/c coupe. It has a build date of 7C17. It's a 750 alt.
I found this at Zip.... 69 ALTERNATOR (63 AMPS)
With transistor ignition, 2nd design. Remanufactured.

Product Number M-2904

Price:$119.00....
Question is, will this work on my car until I have mine rebuilt? Install correctly with no cutting/splicing of wires?
Thanks for replies.

Dennis, why bother? If yours is going to be rebuilt, why not wait for the week or so it takes? Maybe I don't understand here. By second design you mean the alternator with the internal regulator? Don't bother if this is the case.

Just my opinion.

It's just that I wanted it up and running to drive. I need my BB fix. Pirkle told me at Carlisle he was running about 8-9 weeks behind so if I send it to him, I could experience a bad case of withdrawal. BTW, if that's your 67 in the pic, Marina Blue was always my first choice...damn fine car and color.

Dennis, yes, that's my car. Thank you. Corvette Central has a matching original style alternator for 75.00. Do you have an alternator already or are you shopping for one? Did you try Paragon Vintage? It can take a while to get an acceptable date code.

Bob

Go to your local chain auto parts store and buy a rebuilt to use while yours is at Pirkle's - everything will plug right in, and they're cheap; just say it's for a '67 Chevy (not Corvette), and it'll work fine. '63-'70 are all functionally identical.
