Got to run the 67 at a private drag strip on saturday. Lots of sideways activity as there was no traction to be had with the 235x60x15 michelin radials. The engine is stupifying with power and the keisler 5 spd is fantastic. Only two dedicated strip cars were able to beat me and they both had HUGH slicks, racing auto trans, big gears and big blocks (one was blown). Both pulled out to about 6-7 carlengths out of the box but I only lost by 1 carlength. If we ran 5/8 of a mile I would have caught and passed them. I had no traction through the first three gears (sideways at every shift) even though I soft pedaled it. I must have had an ungodly MPH as I finally got traction in fourth gear. The drag cars run consistant low 11s at 120+ mph and I was closing fast at the end of the 1/4. I have since purchased a set of eight inch rims and will buy a set of Mickey Thompson ET drag slicks (real ones not the drag radials). If I can get any traction this car should pull low 10s or better. I am also installing a chevy 12 bolt unit with the upper drag link from Toms differentials to go along with the carbon fiber halfshafts I just installed, this should complete the transformation. This was the first time I got to really beat the snot out of this car since the engine transplant and it was intoxicating with the power. I would do this conversion again in a minute. Thanks to all on the list who helped with advice and encouragement.

Gerry
