I was looking over your baby in some late driving photos you posted and noticed that the hood was not fully closed. Is there a reason for that? Also, did you paint the headlite buckets at a different time than when the body was done? They look a little darker than the rest of the car. Not trying to be a pain in the a** or a critical puke, just curious.
Sweet Ride!!

Crash,

The hood wasn't latched on purpose. The photo you saw was from the very first ride around the neighbourhood and I wanted quick access under the hood in case anything weird (like back-firing through the carb) happened.

The colour difference between the buckets and the rest of the car? See here.... http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58343 There are photos throughout the thread.

Thanks for the kind words.

67,
Thanks for the response. Your car is absolutely one of the finest I've seen, love the streched quarters!! I did a similar overhaul on a '65 Coupe many moons ago. The guy that bought it still shows it to this day and it still breaks my heart everytime I see it. What the hey, I was 25 yrs old, spent 6 months on the body and paint, you know the drill, primer, set in sun for a week, block sand and repeat. Anyhow, I had the car out for about a week and picked up a nasty rock chip, freaked out and sold it.......DAMN!, what a mistake. Didja ever notice when you try to park as far away from the obliviots as possible, they seem to gravitate to around your spot?
Is there an easy way to post pix? I have some recent ones of the '65.

Thanks 67, I think I got the pix posting thing figured out. I'm @ home and was able to download the resizing software. The attached are pix of my former baby.
Note, the overhaul was done over 30 years ago and the guy who owns it now has replaced the motor, wheels & tires and added side pipes and maintained it very well. It doesn't hurt quite so bad when you know she is being taken care of. The owner is a great guy.
