I have acquired a 427 and 4 spd out of a 69 LT1. The guy still has the LT1 Hood. Will it fit my 72? Also, will the side vents fit in my slot, so I could almost make my 72 a 69 clone?

Kelvin:

There were no LT-1's for 1969, (although Clippinger Chevrolet in Covina, Ca claims to have sold one). So if you got an LT-1 hood that has the painted graphics on it, it is made for the '70 to '72 year cars, and should fit just fine.

I thought you would need a LTI type hood for the 427

Will the 427 fit under a standard hood? Would the 69 Hood fit the 72?

The LT1 engine was a small block 350 that put out 370HP. I don't know if the LT1 hood will have enough clearance for a big block 427. It wouldn't be a clone but it would sure look nice.
