70 VETTE 454

Guest
Hi everyone, my name is David Rivera, and was finally able to get away from my project long enough to finally register, just like by buddy Chris (69MyWay) suggested, and who has really helped me allot in getting my project going after 3 long years of just sitting there......thanks Chris, I needed that, and now I don't want to stop.
Chris did a previous post of me and my shark and provided a few pics as well, and I have plenty more of my 70 BB Body Off, restoration, which I see you all like...... so do I, what better way to learn!!!! well ill keep you up to date the best I can, when I get away from my car, and all that grinding......I'm concentrating on the frame portion for now, so that is what ill be showing off in the months to come......
any tips and ideas are always helpful, as well as lessons learned from your experiences........

Dave
...AKA...
Lizard Shark...

tell you all the story later behind the name for my C3, and once again you can thank Chris (69MyWay) for that one......

Dave,

Great to see you registered.

I need to stop over and see how things are shaping up.

Let me know if you need anything.

Chris

Welcome to CAC!

I followed your progress when Chris posted them earlier. You have a really cool Vette to restore. I look forward to following your project.

BTW, I have a real good friend just retired from the Navy there in Orange Park. His name is Commander David Nelson. Maybe you know him. He and I grew up together here in Texas.

Good to have you here!

Bill :pat

Hi ya, Dave and welcome to the :CAC!

:w

Hey Chris, I see you found me......
well I was going to shoot you an email to let you know I registered and what my name was, but no need for that now.
well I got duty today, so no progress on this day, but I guarantee there will be allot tomorrow......
well I missed you at the corvette show, but I did see your car looking awesome as usual and I ran into your buddy with the 2001 C5.....Dragon....something or another, the same guy I met with you at the last car show..... so how did that 63 with the blower finish, man, that one looked sweet. I was talking to the owner of it from Tampa and he was telling me that he had like 850HP in there, man I was just blown away by that..... think I and take him...hahaha...
well ill be calling you here soon for more help, I'm pretty much done with my rear completely, I just got the sides and the front left, then pull the suspension and engine and flip the frame to do the bottom. well you know where I'm at, so stop by....

Dave

Bill,

how's it going, well thanks for the reply and comments and glad you liked what you saw, but I only hope to make it as sweet as Chris's 69...... so stay tuned, with his help anything is possible.
CDR Nelson, sorry, but cant say that I know who he is, but I'm sure I have ran into him before if he is out here too.
your from h-town huh.... well I'm on the Texans bandwagon already, cause they seem to have a teem, but only if they can put it all together at the same time, it would work much better, but they got a shot, and I happen to be from Texas too, Corpus Christy to be exact..... speaking of which I need to go visit sometime, and on my way down there I do right downtown Houston everytime (I-10). maybe I could stop by some time and see what you got if I'm in the area....
well keep in touch and ill be here from now on......

Dave

Guy,
thanks for the welcome, and you should be seeing pics of mine too soon..... nice pair you got ? ? ? ?
Dave

67Heaven,
Man, I saw your site earlier, and I like your vette......
but I'm partial more to the blue/white, vice the black/red, but either one will be awesome when done.....I see you have done allot of work and replaced allot of parts, now I see what I have in store for me, granted my restoration is in the begining stages, and only about 3 weeks old, everything is going smoothly so far......
well keep a lookout for my updates.....
Dave

I have only done mine, but I have had my fingers tied up in a half or dozen or so others.

When Dave gets this monster finished...there will be three RAT powered chrome bumper sharks racing around this town. It is going to be awesome!

Dave,

Please do stop by on your way through town! I would love to show you what I am working on. Let me know when ever you do and I can give you detailed directions to my house.

Right now I have the body off the frame of my '78. My plans are to go with a Big Block, and the look very simular to Killer, and Bruiser. I just hope it turns out as nice as Chris and Dave's.

Maybe, eventually there will be every year of the whole C3 generation built like this and we all could merge on the Corvette Museum one year. Wouldn't that be cool?

Bill

Dave,

Now that Bruiser has been taken for it's first drive, I can tell you that all the work you have ahead of you will be well worth it.

Any time you get frustrated and start throwing those tools, call Chris or Dave up and they'll take you for a ride. You'll be so hopped up, you'll be out in the garage for days without needing any sleep. Yep...it's that good!

Next..it'll be you, enjoying your new ride.

Sue
(do I have to keep saying Mrs. TZ Racer? Everyone knows Dave is watching me type or is really out in the raceshop and not on the 'puter at all.)

Hey Bill,

I most definitely will stop by, and id love to see what you got too, and ill put my pics on a disk for you to see as well, since I can't bring my car, cause my body is off too..... ill be going home like some time in early sept. or so, but ill keep you informed as to when and we could arrange something, oh and hope I don’t get lost with all those dam detours. :r

dave

Hi Sue...or should i say.... Mrs. TZracer.... :L
just seeing the cars is getting me all excited and now im kicking mysefl for not getting stared sooner....instead of 3 weeks ago? but i gues its better late than never....right!?!?!
it looks like i will need that ride soon, so stay by the phone.... just in case. :D you know, just to tide me over......
but i cant wait to get done..... so i better go for now!!!
