Quick questions for ya out there. I know how to change a speedo gear, but how do you change the driven gear on a 700R4 trans? I did a swap in my 76 vette about a year ago, and am off by 30mph at 70. I have 4.11 rear end. Trans shop said you can't get much closer than that. I talked to bowtie, and they told me the proper drive and driven gear I need to put in there. Well, judging by these pictures on this site http://www.transmissioncenter.net/speedometer_calibration_______va.htm I have no ideas how to change the driven gear. Any advice, or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You need to remove the driveshaft, unbolt the rear trans cover and slide the gear off. I am not sure if there is enough clearance to do this with the trans in the car. You might end up unbolting the crossmember and lowering the transmission a bit. There are also speedo gear reduction boxes that cost about $100. They are externally mounted and can increase or reduce the speedo cable speed, usually available through any major speedo/auto gauge repair shop.

naw, it shall be very easy to get too for me, i am ripping the engine and trans out during spring break =) I like the pic. Sucks, even with my current engine in the car, if I go to break torque the car the front tires get pushed along the ground, they don't loosen, they just get pushed... Plenty of tread on them too..
