I recently purchased a 1971 454 M21 convertible and am chasing down all the ghosts. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
The neutral safety switch has been jumped. The starter will turn over with the pedal fully depressed, but the car wont start (ignition is being de-energized). If I just lift the pedal a little it will start. This also happens while driving. I am not opposed to making the neutral safety switch perform its function and wanted to know if this is a known by product of jumping the switch?
Regards, Karl

I would check under the dash and your clutch linkage to see if its rubbing,
or pushing on a wire that's killing the car.
have you tried to remove the jumper and running the car with it working.

I have not looked to see if anything was rubbing and I am going to remove the jumper. I am out of town and will do this as soon as I return.

I would remove the jumper. But the jumper itself won't be the cause of the issue. The clutch safety switch only prevents starting. And has no effect on the engine once it's running.

I am going to remove the jumper, before i drive it again.
