71 Vette Pics

Now...we are only waiting on the frame.

Notice the pic of the 4th body mount from the inside. The cage nut was completely eaten up, and the pocket was full of crud it had collected over the last 30 plus years.

Boy, that title sure got my attention!

Glad to find out it was not what I first thought.

Looks like you are making good progress! I especially like the pic of your Beagle sitting in the birdcage.

The forth mount sure was a mess! Did you have to cut the bolt to remove the body, or was it so weak the body just lifted off without having to deal with the bolt?

I had to saw it out from the bottom to lift the body off. There was still enough meat on the nut plate area to hold in in place.

sure hope you know what you are doing

Well....I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night..!

;LOL

Actually, this will make my 3rd hands on, and semi fifth or sixth depending on how you count my contribution to some others I have had a hand in over the years.

Chris you sure know how to take something apart. I would be afraid to cut a car into chunks like that. I guess if its not your first time it's easier on the second or third go around.

I would just like to be there when it went back together so I could learn a few things, not that I would attempt it myself.

Let me know what you want to learn more about, and I will try to focus my pictures on that. It is in the reassembly phase now. I am just waiting on the frame to be finished. He was getting some new trailing arms from Van Steele, and will be able to deliver the frame a soon as those are installed.

I just put up four more pics

The first is the a/c evap box. Yuck! When I split it open, I thought a family of rats was going to come running out. It had started to rust on the backing plate. I had a few hours of work cleaning it up. It is going back with all new evap, heater core, etc.

The last two show where I put a light coat of truck bed liner down on the floor pans. This will help insulate, sound proof, and it just plain makes the whole project look and feel better.

Chop Shops would pay alot of money for someone like yourself !

Hmmmm, McChop Shop.......I kinda like the sound of that.

I sure hope you don't have any "left-over peices".

Hey, that is how you KNOW you did it right....when there is a bucket full of things left over that you can't quite identify!

YIKES! I thought I had a rust problem.

Where do you get the time to do all this?

It would also be interesting to see a cost listing for this job so others could get an idea of how big a loan from the bank is required.

Nice looking Job so far.

It will be nice to see the finished product.
