72-ACLT1

Guest
Hello Everyone,
I have a 72 ACLT1 vette and would like to install the correct 3999263 r6239a carb. I would like to set it up to original factory setting if possible. Can I install an electric choke and AC idle components on the original carb because the present setup does? If anyone has an orignal setup, could you please send me a picture or a website that could help me out.

Thanks Everyone,

Mike:bang

I'll send you a few pics...you might also want to check out a book called Vette Vues for the 68-72 Stingray...or something like that...
I got this book at home and was suprised to see that they had quite a few detailed engine bay pics of a '72 LT-1 w/ AC...
Also, were you the guy that outbid me on that carb about a week ago on Ebay? :) Sold for about $219...should have bid a little higher...but I only wanted a spare matching #'s carb anyways...

On a different note...
Is it me or does it seem like there are a lot more than 240 of the LT-1's with AC?
I see one for sale or a new one on a forum almost every week...

I can take some pictures of my engine bay sometime soon. It's dirty, but it's almost completely original down to the AIR pump.

Thanks Guys, This would really help me out?

I am very new to this site. So how do I add a picture to my profile?

Tonyk72,
That was me. I think it was a good bye. It matched my built date.

At least it went to somebody who needed it...
Are you having problems with the carb? The seller told me he would have brought everything back to spec...he seemed like he knew what he was doing too...

c5d, I've seen that carb before...the one that 72-ACLT1 picked up seemed like a much better buy...

I may go with a Holley 670 Avenger on mine to play with...

Yes, The seller returned the carb back to original spec's. And he has been assisting me on some of my questions as well. I have not installed the carb yet but have no reason to believe there would be a problem.

C5d, Thanks for the ebay picture. This does look like my carb. but my carb is missing the Choke Diaphragm Assembly. Do you know of a place were I can buy one.

Looking forward to the carb pictures guys.
Thanks

C5d,

I hope we can find this person as well.

Free bee's are great! Thanks but I would like to offer you some $ and pay for the shipping. Let me know if you will need my addess.

THX,
Mike

I took the beast out this afternoon and snapped a few shots. Please don't laugh at how dirty the engine is. She's stock, unrestored and unmolested. The heads have never been off. . .

In any case:

Please let me know if these help or if you'd like larger versions.

Erik,
Thanks for the pictures. This will help me out alot. Don't worry about the looks. My car looks just like yours. But mine is ~90% stock. Now with the original carb I am one step closer.
Again thanks for the pictures. I hope one day I can repay.

Eric, is that the spark control solenoid on the drivers side of the carb? If so, did the '71 LT-1 have it? When I put back the correct holley on mine I couldn't locate a SCS anywhere for that car!
