72 Side Markers

Does anyone know if the original side marker covers were glued to the housing? When I received the car the side markers were in a box with the covers separated from the housing. There are no visible screw holes or any way for the matter for the cover to stay in the housing. Maybe there were clips that snapped of when the covers were separated from the housings? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

What are you callng a "cover"? The lens? I'm thinking the lenses are glued to the housings.

yup the lens it is, thanks

It was more like a thick bead of silicon sealer than a glue. It formed a gasket that held the lens to the housing. I used clear RTV to put mine back together.
