Ok so I have the body on my dolly and I am knee deep in body work. I bought fiberglass front and rear bumpers and what a pain in the arse it is to get them fitted on the car.

I have done some research and seen that some folks just bond them right on and remove the seam. I am feeling that actually and think it might look pretty slick. But on the other hand I have put about 12k into this restoration and am not sure if I should do it or not.

Thoughts? Anyone seen a car done like this?

It looks good either way as I have seen them either way. I personally like the seam, but that comes from knowing what these cars looked like when new. IMO, it really changes the look of the car. The nose goes on forever (as if it doesn't anyway :L). The rear, since it is a '74, will need the split ;squint: filled as well.

BTW, yes the fiberglass front and back are difficult to fit. But worth it when you get done.

It is a total pita!
I used the stainless mounting brackets to mount mine, then glassed over the crack (on the front). I wish I had bonded them too. I still have primer on the nose & hood, but I do like the smooth look. I still haven't decided if I want to do it to the rear too (Rear panel was 100% easier to mount than the nose!). I believe Corvette Fever Magazine did an article on this a year ago.
