It is really hot in this car. r-12 is charged up but have no volume out the vents. what should I check ? MY Haynes manual has nothing.

no volume??? as in no air flow coming out of the vents or no cold air coming out of the vents???

if no air flow coming out of the vents...is your blower working???
if no cold air coming out of the vents then is your clutch on your compressor engaging...check these first...good luck...

bill, thanks for the reply. I have air coming out vents and the clutch is working and the blower fan is running very fast. just no volume of air out of the vents. some is even coming out of the heater vents. more suggestions?

??? Clogged Evaporator Core ???

Sir:

If the blower motor is functioning properly and the vacuum actuated climate control doors are functioning then I would suspect clogged fins on the evaporator core. Also check the hot water control value to ensure it is cutting off continuous hot water flow through the heater core.

This is such a common problem, I have written several tech tips that may assist in solving your dilemma. Perhaps this will aid:

PS I am looking for a nice loaded 1969 L-89 convertible; no project and no junk.

thank you geoffrey, this weekend I will tear the dash off and see if the vacuum doors are functioning as i need to change the speaker over there anyway. I assume to test them would be with the engine running and move the controls and see if the doors react.l guess if they don't then check hoses, and apply a vacuum directly to the door actuator to see if it moves. right now I kind of think it does work as I can get a good defrost and heater volume, just nodda out dash vents . plugged???? thanks for help!!!

I read on a post several months ago that there is a blower motor/fan that comes from a GM van and will bolt right in to a C3. I don't remember the year of the van but I have been thinking about changing mine out because of low air volume.
Maybe somebody remembers the post.
