I'm going to look at a '76 this weekend. Anyone have any advice of problem spots to look for? Where is the frame/undercarriage most likely to rust first? Any problems inherent to this vintage? (I NEVER should have sold my '69...) Thanks!

I am no expert but in 76 they used a steel floor, mine were rotted. Look at the well under the seat where the seatbelt retractor goes, you can see it from under the car. Water sits in there and rots out the metal as well as the retractors. 76 seat belts are VERY expensevie IF you can find them. (I am working on a retrofit) The rear body mounts are also rusted on mine so look there as well. Also the bottom of the front radiator support.
Good luck,
Scott

There is a Corvette Buyer's Checklist. It may seem like overkill but you won't forget to ask The Important questions.
