We are in the process of restoring a 77. The sills were all but rusted out and also the upper left window frame. We had these replaced with new ones. We had to customize the firewall to fit after we got the birdcage back and now we find that the right door pillar is short by a 1/4 inch. The firewall is back on and the body is back on the chassis. We have a few options that we see, 1. drill new door bolt holes, 2. weld in a piece to take up the space and 3. buy a new body. Any suggestions.

To weld in a piece means ALOT of cutting and fiberglass work, and to drill new door bolt holes is hiding a problem that may come back to haunt us later, what would you do?
