The lever is broken off at the switch.
I've removed the steering wheel but can't get to the swith.
Can't figure out how to disengage the sleeve over the sterring column.
Do I need to remove the entire column?
Man! I hope I can put all this back together again!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a link to a download related to steering column repair. The article was authored by Jim Shea who is a retired engineer who use to work for GM Saginaw Steering Division. This guy knows more about corvette steering than any other person alive today.

It pointed to a non-adjustable column which is not what I hvae.
But by reading trhought hte article it told me how to find the info I needed for my adjustable column.
I've added the root link to my favorites.
Can't tell you haoiw much I appreciate your help.
Who knows? In another ten years, I might have this car fixed. If I can find the time to work on it.

Got it!

Thanks agin for th elink.

Next problem...
I'm trying to put the column and wheel back togehter. But I can't get the lever to engage the blinker/headlight switch mechanism inside the column.
Is there a connter or lever of some sort between the lever and the switch mecahnism? I've got so loose pieces I'm not sure if I'm missing somethingor not.
