My 4sp pops out of gear when you aren't accelerating and the clutch needs to be replaced. I came across a Borg Warner from a 76 vette that is complete except the flywheel.

How does this one compare to the original that I have and should there be any problems installing it, like drive shaft length, bolt pattern, etc.?

I have been thinking about putting in something with an overdrive to get those high rpms down. What kind of swaps have you been using and how hard were they to fit in. I would like to get the RPMs down but only at a reasonable price otherwise I'll just keep it stock.

BTW- I noticed that my power steering bracket has cracked and I need to find another one. Does anyone know if this bracket is generic 350 part or vette specific for that year?

Your trans should also be a borg warner T-10.As far as the bracket try Zipps corvette parts.

You should have a BW Super T-10 and the 76 should be the same. they will bolt in. A wide and close ratio was offered in 76 so be sure which one it is. There are rings machined into the input shaft for ID. Do a search on BW ST-10 and you'll find the ID info. You'll most likely want a WR tranny, unless you have some 370 gears. An OD is great but the kits run about $3,000 for a new setup using a Tremic 5 speed.

The bracket can be welded, ground, and painted to be as good as new.
