79 broken door handle

I think the door handle rod is either broken or fallen off I have a shop manual but still can't figure out to get at it to fix I need help Thanks

Are you saying that if you try to open the door from the outside the door will not open?

hi thanks went to open door heard a couple pieces fall inside door door will not open from outside thought it was the door rod used to put them on at g.m. thought it would be easy to fix can't get at it to see thanks again

71's door handle broke . I got it out and have a new handle. Any install suggestions or dissasters I need to avoid to re - install the handle ????
