79 driver's seat no fold

Greetings fellow C3er's, I have a 79 and the driver's seat will not fold down. It's locked in the upright position. I have never done any re-upholstering of any kind. Is this an easy do-it-yourselfer or would I be better taking it to a shop and having a professional do it. I will be replacing the 3 door compartment top and will be pulling the seat anyway. Thanks for your input.
