Hi. My passenger side power window wouldn't go down yesterday. No previous symptoms. Today it worked fine. My fear is that anything that happens once is a signal of a future problem. When I pressed the window switch yesterday the dome light dimed but I couldn't hear any window motor noise. Does that sound like a switch issue or a window motor issue?
Thanks:w

Instead of watching the dome light, watch the amp meter. It will show the load the battery sees. If the Ammeter goes negative with the switch it might be the window is stuck. Open the door and try to open the wwindow again.

We're talkin Corvettes here, soooooo, since the hardest most expensive part to replace is the motor, then that must be it. But do what SR71' suggested and see if the window itself is the problem.

On my 80 both windows were getting very slow. I pulled the door panels off and lubed the tracks with white lithium grease. Now the windows go up and down nice and fast. However, your problem sounds like a window motor. You have the typical symptoms. They get intermittent, then fail altogether. I'm pretty sure your switch works because power is obviously being drawn (dimmed dome light). But, you might get lucky if you try to lube the tracks.

Thanks, I'll try the lube first. I sure don't want to tackle replacing the motor at this point!
