The 2005 Corvette convertible Indianapolis 500 pace car accompanied by six previous Corvette Indy 500 pace cars: 2004 Corvette convertible, 2002 Corvette 50th Anniversary Edition, 1998 Corvette coupe, 1995 Corvette coupe, 1986 Corvette coupe and 1978 Corvette coupe. General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.), former U.S. Secretary of State, will drive the 2005 Corvette convertible Indianapolis 500 pace car on May 29
 
Very cool! Congrats to Corvette for the honor of pacing the Indy 500, AGAIN! :)

Outside of the color, it looks like the same scheme (paint/decal) used on the Daytona car.

Yea, I thought looked a lot like the one at Daytona. Congrats to Chevrolet and Corvette! I wonder if they are selling replicas of these? I think they missed out by not having any of the 2004 Pace Cars for sale. I really like its color scheme.

someone at indy must really like corvettes to have the C6 in it's first year pace the 500. i think this is probably a first for any car manufacturer on it's first year with a new body style.
