Hi guys, I have an 80 and when driving on the main roads it is hard to keep it straight. Most of the roads in mass. get so much use the they have tracks worn from the traffic. That is when I have the problem. I have given the car a 4 wh. allingment and had all the front end parts checked. I was told that it was all ok. I remember reading that this was a common problem and they said to have the allingment changed from the factory setting. I can not remember what setting they changed. I hope some one can help with this .

Thanks Joe.

I think most of the (late) C3 owners have the same problem. Your track width is a little smaller than that of most truck's. So driving with worn tracks in the road first your left wheel will drive in the track, then switching to right, back to left etc etc. I think you also have the 255 tire's, if I remember correctly they have this problem (more then 225 tires).

Greetings Peter

Peter, I do have 255 tires and I think your assesment is on the mark. Some ware I read that by changing the the front adjustment from the factory settings, but I don't know if it was caster, camber, toe in or out. I hope some one can set me straight buscuse it is verry annoying to drive it this way. I know the change in adjustment will cause early tire ware but I only drive it for fun 4 Months a year.

Try adding a little more toe-in. Not much, don't want to eat tires. But a little more won't hurt and might help.
VB&P has specs on their website=they spec 1/8 toe-in. Your alignment shop probably set it to factory specs.
That 1/8 toe-in works. I set my 69 there and it drives perfect with 275/40x17 tires.

Tim, thanks for that info I will give that a try.
Joe.
