81 Power Seat

Hi,
Does anyone here have any experience with the power seat workings in an 81 ?? The center switch that looks like a joystick works like it's supposed to but the 2 blade type switches that are supposed to move the front and back of the seat up and down won't do anything, I can hear a faint clunking sound on the front switch when I try to put the seat front down but it doesn't move, I was wondering if something could be bound up ? or maybe the motor is bad ???

Hi Red dog, have an 82 here but only thing can think of that's a quick look is the large connector under the seat bottom... pop the seat bottom out, or move seat all the way forward and get at the wire harness under there, its one connector. Maybe a few of the prongs in the conn. are iffy as to contact(?). I'd disconn it and take a small nail or brad and individually scrape each contact then try it. Otherwise, maybe the switch itself, but I'd try that first, then re-conn. and try. Regards.
