81 Vert conversion!

Hey folks, I strayed over from the C5 area to get some value info on a C3! It's been about 15 years since I've had a C3 so I'm not up on prices! I do fondly remember my C3 and many times think that out of all the generations it's my favorite! There is a 81 Spectra Red car that in the early 80's was converted to a convertable, they did a really good job on it using parts from an earlier C3 Vert, it has 33,000 miles on it and the car looks great. Given that the General didn't make 81 convertibles what do you think that this car would be worth?

Like any vette with major body mods or customising, the price is really what someone will pay for it, based on the desire to own it.
I have seen that you can buy conversion fibreglass, rear deck, hood bin etc from ACI still, so its not like it cant be replicated now (at a cost no doubt!).
However I like the idea, so would look at it in a similar light to an original coupe, with price based on condition etc. Just remember it probably wont hold its price the same, but then again.......who really knows!.

I've known of the car since the 80's and it's still in great shape! I think I can get it for $8000 to $10,000!

I think a conversion is about 5k alone, so it might be a sweet deal. I really like the 80-82 look.

i think that sounds like a bargain! I paid 6300 for my 82 2 tone and thats with 93k on it and needs interior work and paint at some point. So 8-10k sounds like a bargain.

Corvette County in Austin TX has an '82 that has been converted. They are asking $19,995. It is a Collectors Edition with 69,000 miles.
