Could anyone assist me in locating the intermittent wiper module in my '81. I feel like I have looked everywhere but cannot find it.

Looking at the schematic the timer relay is part of the wiper motor assembly, the pulse delay is in the switch. I can scan and send this to you if you need it.

The actual timer/delay mechanism is beneath the removable tray in the compartment behind the passenger seat---It's one of several "black boxes", but I believe it differs from the others in that you can see all the various electronics in it and it is held on its holder by a strip of duct tape like material. You disconnect the wiring harness and slip the unit out from its holder. These aren't made anymore, and I got a replacement on Ebay. Make sure you ask whether it works before you buy, or if you can find one at a local used parts place be sure to try it out first. Lots of sellers claim they have these, but don't insure that they work.

Thanks,

I am starting to think mine may have been removed and bypassed. I never have tried the delay feature until the wipers stopped working. I now have two schematics and according to both, I have voltage and ground where needed so I bought a wiper motor. Needless to say, that was not the problem. I think I will start to trace the wires and look for poor connections next. Guess it is possible to have voltage with no current. I should check to see if the 12v drops when the wipers are on since so far I have tested the 12v with the plug disconnected from the wiper motor.
