Do we have anyone who lives around upstate NY (Albany area)? I think I've seen some posts around Rochester, but that's a hell of a drive for me. I would like to meet some people with similar vettes to compare. I know how my car handles and drives, but I'd like to have something to compare it to...and of course, some one to cruise with.

Tim- Had a chance to browse your website... Very nice. I wished you lived near me. I could use some of your enthusiasm getting my engine powered up like yours! Our cars are close cousins as both have the same color and trans option. Take care ...Dave

Tim I live in the pittstown area of rens. co. got an 81 but am still waiting for the body shop to get it fixed :( ....am being VERY paitent.(this guy is real good and i feel worth waiting for!)if I get luck enough to get it done this summerwe can go crusin',,,if you would like to take a ride out here some time OM me and illm give you dirctions to get here.

Sounds good Bill. I don't think there are a lot of '81s floating around. I usually see a ton of late 70's models, but haven't seen an 81 in a while. Let me know when you're back on the road, I'm up for a drive.

Burglar, I found motivation in doing the engine job after I started the carb rebuild. I just kept taking off "one more" part cause everything looked dirty as hell. With a little persuasion from a buddy with a 454, I said screw it and pulled it out. The worst part of the project was writing the check! But it's worth it!! I should find a dyno to get some hard numbers.

Tim, I'm about an hour south of you. I'm 6 miles from the New Paltz exit on the Thruway. I looked at your web site. Very nice. I know where the Chevy dealership is that your car was originally sold from in Goshen. That's about 20 miles from me. If your thinking of making a trip down my way, let me know.

Hi Tim

Enjoyed your website, you have been very busy and your Vette sure shows it, Congrats.

I have been doing the necessary things to my 81 and she is starting to look good, New Brakes, water pump, front suspension, radiator. Hopeing to have a garage built this year so i can store her at home and work on the other things during the Non-Vetteing season.

Next year new interior cloth seats and carpet then repaint to follow.

Are you going to Carlisle this year? I plan on being there on Saturday, if you do go we could meet and follow each other down. Maybe get a few others from NYS and make a group appearence.

Yeah, I've put a little time into both the website and the vette. It wouldn't do the car justice to have it any other way!

I just replaced the steering control valve, cylinder, and hoses this past weekend. Made a tremendous difference in the 'feel' of the wheel. Next winter I'll probably get into cleaning up and tightening up the rear suspension. A nice stainless steel dual exhaust and headers is on my radar for sometime too.

I don't know much about Carlisle. You guys head down for the weekend? I might be able to go down if the dates work out.

gail and I will be headed to carlisle (vetteless)...not sure when we are going to get there but I plan on going!! i know GS Diva is trying to get cell phone#'s together so we(cac'ers)can all get together some time during carlisle...so if any of you are interested let elaine know!!!

Corvettes at Carlisle is unbelievable, compare it to the size of the NYS fairgrounds in Syracuse and fill it with corvette vendors, displays of corvettes, car corral of vettes for sale.

I would guess there are about 3,000 to 4,000 vettes on site including those who bring their vettes. You can easily OD with searching for vette parts or wander through hundreds of vettes that are for sale. CAC members usually meet at a certain area and GS Diva ( heard she has been appointed cruise director) will be giving more details as the event draws near.

The ride is only 2 1/2 hours for me so I make it a one day trip, but it is impossible to see everything in one day, IT IS A TOOT and once you have been there you will want to go again and again.

now i have an idea how big this place is!!!!:eek
