The alarm doesn't work on my 82, I've checked out all the circuits and they seem to look ok but still it doesn't work so I guess it may be the module, unfortunately the module isn't available anymore from GM 16012660 does anyone have a spare they would sell, or know of where one can be found?

I'm in the same boat as Donald; I need an alarm module too (when I bought my car, it was completely missing, just its dangling harness plug is there). So if anyone has one, please offer it to Donald first. But if anyone has two, I'll take the other one off your hands.

Thanks,
Paul

I have a similar problem too with the 79 I just bought. I havent taken delivery of the car yet but during my inspection the seller told me that if you set the alarm with the door key it will blow the fuse that also controls the radio and interior light package. Any ideas??? Actually I dont see this as major but one of those little gremlins that need to be worked out of the car..........

Thanks for your ideas in advance...

Jeff

Well I have found that the same module goes in the 81, 82, and 84. If I find anything Paul I'll keep you informed.

Donald,

Does your 82 have manual or power door locks? They don't "arm" the same.

These guys are one of the largest Vette salvage yards and are good for odd parts : http://www.contemporarycorvette.com/
They had a seatbelt/headlight, etc warning buzzer module I needed for NCRS judging.

Make sure your battery voltage is right up there. The alarm disables itself when the battery voltage gets too a certain point so the battery isn't drained after an activation. I don't know what the cutoff voltage is but think it is pretty high. I had a weak battery and noticed the alarm wouldn't work. After I recharged it the alarm worked fine. This has happened several times. I have seen '84 alarm units in the catalogs (Eckler's?). Don't know if they are interchangeable though.

Contempory has them and at a very good price. 30 day money back makes it a great deal get with them and they will hook you up.
