After replacing my fuel pump, I statred it up everthing was fine. Went out the following day to start the car and it's not working now. This is the 2nd time it's happened. Could it be that I've gotten 2 bad fuel pumps? Or could there be something else going on?:confused I hear it when I turn the key but it's not pumping gas to the injectors.

Okay. I'll ask the obvious stupid question of the day and go ahead and get it over with....you got gas in the tank?

:thumb

Next question(s) since you say that you can hear the pump, which means its working.

Have you replaced the fuel filter yet and what's the fuel pressure set to now?

Is there "any" spray coming out of the injectors when cranking and do you have a GM Service Manual yet? If not...Get one!

I am having the same problem. No fuel getting to injectors starting to think it is the relay after all it is 30 years old. Is it possible that it went bad even while driving. New pump, new sending unit, fuel filter 2-3 years old this might be my problem. Anyone have some suggestions?? After all wife is starting to get mad spending money on car maybe I should get rid of wife. :confused:confused:confused

Yep new fuel filter as well. I pulled the hose off the receiving end of the fuel filter still got no gas when I turned the key. Still hearing the pump. It makes no since.

check this out.

This is actually my third pump. The first one I got did the exact same thing. Worked for one day then stopped. So I replaced it. The second one never even worked. (Again...I can hear the pump working but nothings getting to the new fuel filter) Went and got a third pump. This one worked as well for one day and it stopped. I'm going crazy.

I do have a Haynes manuel. It's not much help.

Ok, two things then. If you have no fuel getting to the filter and the pump is running then that leaves either the small hose that connects the pump to the hardline is bad/cracked or the hose at the top of the tank is bad/cracked. Since you said you drove it at least once since the change, you must have wired the pump correctly. I'd pull the pump back out and check it over good. You could also put it into a bucket of water and check the output of the pump and then flush it out good afterwards. Is that an AC Delco pump or some off brand?

Throw that Haynes manual away and buy the GM Service Manual which is worth its wieght in gold for a 28 year old car that you want to maintain. You can usualy find them on FleeBay.

thanks for the help.
I don't think the pump is an AC Delco. I'm going to guess what your going to say.:) I think I saw one on Flee Bay.

I actually did the bucket idea on the previous pump. Needless to say, I'm getting really good at taking the pump out. Do it in 15 min. prolly in 10.

Again...MUCH THANKS.
