You can take your air pump apart and remove the guts of your air pump and it will turn freely just like a pulley. I think you have to break off the fins inside the air pump. Another mod that works is to get some underdrive pulleys for your crank and alternator, it will give you 10-15 hp or a reduction of .1 to .2 in your 0-60 and your 1/4 mile.

remove cat= .2 seconds
remove air pump=.1 seconds
underdrive pulleys=.24 seconds
K&N=.13 seconds
roller rockers=.3 seconds
walker rear y-pipe & dynomax mufflers or if you want it louder get muffler eliminators= .2 seconds.

Most 84 vettes run 15.5 stock so with these mods you should be running 14.4 in the 1/4 mile and about 6.4 0-60. Then buy a renegade intake and that should drop your 0-60 to 6 flat and 14 flat. Headers should put you into the high 13's. Probably 13.8!

I have a renegade on order.

Okay!!! The 85-91 air pump delete pulley works on the 84 corvette, all you have to do differently to the 84 is to relocate your power steering reservoir, I zap strapped or zip strapped mine to the pulley bracket. or you can go to a junk yard and locate an 85 style power steering reservoir bracket.:thumb The add says it will give you 20 hp but I think you will be lucky to reduce your 0-60 by .1 seconds. Better than nothing and it cleans up your engine compartment and your vette will loose 20 lbs.:beer

Just remove the air pump altogether. Get a new serpentine belt that's 85½" and you're done. Don't waste your money on a delete pulley that's designed for the TPI.
