My 84 information panel needs to be repaired and or replaced. All is working fine until you touch the TEMP/Bat switch and I loose the Temp reading on the insturment panel. If I switch back to BATTERY I get the battery reading on the insturment panel. Go back to TEMP and no reading. Now, if I play with the switch in the TEMP position, I might get it to work until I take a rough road then my TEMP reading goes blank. Go back to Battery and I'll get a good solid battery reading.
Bought a scrap information panel at a Daytona swap meet for $10.00 with the intent of swapping the switch. Guess what? Those switches are not standard household switches.
I have not seen the information panels for sale in the Eckles, Mid America etc. mags and the dealer wants $125.00 and they will send it off for repair and charge me for extra parts required to make the repair. I'll by a known good used one for $125. There's not $125 in parts in this panel.
Anybody have any insite?
