Went cruising the wheel sites looking for 16" wheels for my "84 and found nothing. A bunch of 17's and BTW you gotta buy the adapters.

I already bought new tires (16's). Am I like stuck with the stock wheels or is there something else out there? I like the 5 spoke mags - help! Thanks.

...probably if you want to use the 16" tires..

You;re lucky to find tires for a 16 these days, much less a selection of wheels.
Since most full size mfg make 17" or larger alloy wheels now as standard equipment the market for yesterdays technology is fading faster than an old polaroid. I see stacks of C4 16" rims at some vette shops. They can;t hardly give them away.

After seeing how limited the 16" tire selection is, I went ahead and bought some 17" wheels so I'd have more choices. The 17" tires are actually cheaper is some cases and there is far more selection. Now, I can't get rid of the 16" with new tires....

Keep yours eye out for used units on various forums, recyclers and ebay. New ones are hard to come by.

What's wrong with the factory rims?

If you just want a new look, get them done in black. Find a shop that's getting ready to spray a black car, and ask them how much to get your rims done. Black OEM seems to always look better, IMO, like GS96, or these '88-'90 style:

On my '87, I had the recessed areas painted to match the body. The person who bought it thought it was a factory paint option!

1. I just don't like the way they look.
2. Whoa - I like the black thing you did - oh yeah! will consider that - maybe I'll do some graphics stuff and post it - get some feed back. I'm also thinking about a black rally stripe.

As you know the "84 rims are a litlle different though. Still imagining this might look pretty sexy.

Thanks.

I've seen some paint-reversed sawtooth rims and they do look pretty good...
Get everything except the gaps between the teeth painted deep black with a heavy clear. Viola-- rally wheels.
