85 C4 Antenna Help Please

Hi, I need help with a antenna for a 85 c4 corvette. I am trying to put in a new antenna. I hooked up the wires and turn on the radio to see if it would work. The antenna went up stop but now it will not come down.I do not here any motor sounds. This is a new antenna. I am checking fusses so far they look ok. If there is anyone that could help me out it would be very appreciated. Thanks. Bill

1985 C4 Power Antenna Help

Power antenna sensor wire???. I have a 1985 c4 when I got the car the antenna was stuck in the up position. Today I tried to put a new antenna in and turned the radio on to have the antenna keep running in the up position until the ribbon broke. Plus if you turn off the radio the antenna wont come back down. I am thinking maybe there are some crossed wires behind the radio,or is there a sensor that tells the antenna when to stop and when to go back down. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks. I am not sure of the setup on a '85, but my '96 has a relay in between the radio and the antenna. If your car also has a relay and it is faulty, it could create the problem you are having.

thanks it has a new relay,but i will check it out.( I checked out the old antenna took it apart it also was stuck in the up position rewound the ribbon got the motor to work and it did the same thing.!!! WENT UP AND WANTS TO KEEP RUNNING

85 c4 Antenna will go up but will not come down

I have a 85 c4 the antenna will go up but it wont come down. The ribbon is not broke. Tried a new antenna and it did the same thing went up but will not go down to. Looking at the old antenna I think the last owner may have replaced it. The only thing I can think of is that maybe he crossed the wires some how in the back of the radio,seems funny that 2 antennas go up but wont come down when you turn the radio off.Any help with this would be very appreciated Thanks. Bill
