85 Vette temp sensor help!

Hey guys,

I need to know which sensor goes in which head (driver/passenger) -- what it looks like, and what color wire goes to it.

I am missing one sensor, and the wire terminal ends have been broken off.

This would be the one sensor for the temp gauge, and the other for the computer.

(I could be 100% wrong, and there only is one sensor on one side. I really can't remember, since this is the first 85 I have been under in years!)

Chris, isn't that the Oxygen sensor on the driver's side??? I can't remember either....it's been quite some time.

On my '87 Chris, the left head (driver) had the sensor for the pusher fan. The right sensor was for the computer, but I have since eliminated the computer sensor and moved my fan sensor to the right head. My water temperature gauge now resides in the left head because the capillary tubing wasn't long enough to reach the right (remember, I'm running mechanical gauges ).

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys have done it!!!!!!!!

Now, I just have to get my butt in gear and get this car done right.

Looks like I have the sensor for the right head, but it is broken in pieces in a pan of bolts and stuff left over. I now recognize it.

BTW-I have/had a 85 shop manual that went with the car when I sold it. However, I did not get it back (at least as of yet), so I am in the dark on these minor details without your help.

It is all hooked up, and as far as I can tell it is working.

Just let it run for a bit (open headers...kind of loud).
