Hi, I'm new to this site but looks like you guys will be very helpful. I have an '86 "Konner" vette with a noisy 4+3 tranny. Sounds like synchronizers. I replaced the od unit three years ago and it's workin' fine.My question is, are there any 6 speeds available that will directly replace the existing tranny or must I rebuild the one that's in the car? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I found the car in 1995 and it had been mistreated to say the least. Didn't really know what it was until I started refurbishing it. Most of the damage was cosmetic, although it needed mechanical healing as well.I have driven and enjoyed the car since. Just recently has the tranny started making noise. I have tried to post a picture, but apparently I'm not as computer literate as some.

As noted ,the 4 speed part is just the common BW Super T10 trans used in many cars
Full rebuild kits run around $120.
Any manual trans shop should be able to reco it without problem
The O/d part on the rear is a different story
Have you checked the gear oil. Check the slave cylinder rod they wear out and you will hear a grinding sound coming from clutch too. And slave cylinder fluid need to be clean
The paint scheme of silver beige over black was unIque to the Konner vette in '86. There were 50 with this paint scheme to commerate the largest corvette dealer in America at the time,Malcolm Konner. There was a large festive event scheduled for each buyer as they picked up their new Konner vette in Bowling Green. It's the only time Chevrolet promoted an event of this kind for DEALER.
