88 Callaway #79 Aero Conv. at Rogers!!

What do you imagine they would tell a prospective buyer as to where they found the car or how they bought it? Most dealers do not want to admit that they buy a car at a dealer auction so I can just hear them saying we bought it off eBay.

8 grand mark-up makes for an expensive buff job :eek

The last B2K Rogers sold was a 1990 coupe - stock body, for 23k

I would say that being a 'vert and an Aero car certainly have a "value-added" appeal in this case :w

after careful investigation it appears that rogers has been using ebay to find low mileage pieces certainly considering that this car has it all i would guees this car will be sold within 60 days and roger does not negotiate!! this car had to be 80K plus at the time??

Most savy Vette buyers dont shop at Rogers IMHO. But maybe they see a trend in the market and wanted to have a solid B2k example at their showroom. 39k is too much money for that car but if it sells it will make all our rides more valuable.

Don’t forget they can get people financed and a lot easier then a private owner. They can also take trades and make people think they are getting more for there trade in then what they are. That is why they can get more for there cars. Most times the easer the seller makes it for the buyer the more it cost them in hidden cost.

I agree... Rogers prices are just too high. It is pretty funny to see them buying cars off ebay and re-selling too ;LOL

fastdaddy: I know rogers doesn't negotiate, but their inventory tends to stay the same for a loooooong time. I haven't been to Rogers in a couple of years but some of their cars are the same as when I was last there

rogers

yes when i look at rogers inventory some of the cars have become old friends!!......however if you have a fix for a low mileage c-4 there are few other places that have that inventory

scott

For 12k miles that B2K seemed a bit too rough. I was surprised when the bidding ended as high as it did. Rogers needs to restore that car a bit, in order to make the mileage look right.

Anyone have any information on this car? Anyone know of any low mileage, areo converitibles that are "reasonably" priced and for sale?

Welcome to the Callaway Forum at the :CAC

I have not personally seen the car in auestion however, it recently was on e-bay and sold - here is a thread about hte car from a month ago: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61054

I think you will find that everyone here is willing to lend a hand and if a car comes up for sale, often times, the details are listed on the site.

Again, Welcome - Enjoy! :m :v

Scott, how long would you say the average car lasts on the lot there??

With real estate, they say if you price too high, you drive your asset right out of the market... Do feel that is the case w/ the cars for sale at that location??

Enjoy! :m

rogers

i'll be in orlando in a week to visit mickey and Rogers i know he has somecars sitting their from2 years ago!!

I saw this car first hand last week...its rough. The paint is a 5 or 6. Dymags need refinished, interior is a 5 or 6 as well. no way it will bring the money being asked. The car is just not that good to look at unless your 10ft away.

Surf, I think that was the general impression, even from the pictures on the auction - thanks for checking it out :cool

There are a lot of variables with these cars, especially as they age - the rusty trim screws iinside were a dead giveaway that the car was not stored properly.

...and pictures are generally nicer than reality :eek

I think for the price paid though, a fun driver could be had :m
