I am planning to rebuild my 89 L98 and am looking for recommendations for good setups that have been tried and proven successful. As a base, I am planning a typical rebuild consisting of a valve job, rings, rod and main bearings, gaskets, lifters, push rods, oil pump, etc. This engine has run great for over 200,000 miles and I want to use the best components. What brand components should I buy? Also, I have done all of the bolt-on power adders, i.e. chip, fuel pressure regulator, performance exhaust, etc. What should I consider for the next step; cam? rockers? intake? pistons? I know that everything needs to work together, but I'm not sure how to put the plan together. The sheer volume of information out there is somewhat overwhelming! What component specs and combinations work well on these engines for mild to moderate street performance?
