89 Vert Gas mileage

Yesterday I joined up with the Birmingham Alabama club and headed up to Bowling Green for the festivities. Spent the Night in Nashville and this morning got into another convoy from Nashville to BG again. I had a blast. Lotsa people, lotsa cars.

I could not take much time off from work so I drove back this evening. 966 miles round trip. Fuel average was 25.5 mpg. I forgot to mention my trip started in Crestview, Florida

Nice MPG, I just got 23.5 best on highway. Maybe my driving style is a bit aggressive:crazy

My 89 convertible sucks about 19 mpg. Mostly stop and go around the town driving. I'm sure it has the potential for 25 mpg. I guess i'll have to take the wife on a long trip and see.

I got a solid 27 on a 425 mile trip from Cincinnatti to Milwaukee. I get about 22 mpg tooling around town (50% city, 50% spirited highway). I have the trusty 2:59 rear axle ratio so my rpm is only 1800 at 74 mpg. That helps.
