89 Vette Engine question

When I go to the parts store they ask aluminum or cast head. Tell me, where cast engine heads put on the 89? If so, was there a difference in horse power between the two engines?

I was just wondering because my car has the aluminum heads.

i think they all have aluminum heads after the middle of the 1986 year.

As mentioned above - Mid 86, heads changed to Alumn.

easiest way to tell is the "centerbolt" design on alumn. heads - other (iron) heads used perimeter (4) bolts
