I need to replace the EGR valve on my 90. I have had the plenum off before and found it really difficult to keep the gaskets in place because of the tight fit. Seems as though the runners are warp a little. Did I do something wrong or is there a trick to getting it in between the runners. Thank you for your time .

I glue one side of the gasket ( to the plenum and bottom of runners ) and grease the other side. That holds them in place while you move parts around and if you are lucky you can easily separate the runners and plenum at a later date without destroying the gaskets
