...just for the record, for those of following my saga.

The car seems very much the same to me with the new heads& cam in place, as I can't run it above 2000 rpm until it breaks in. I'm going to put maybe 500 miles on it before I really run it the way a corvette should be run.

I liked the idle quality and clutch grabing of the car on the short drive I had--drivability and sound are very stock. I wouldn't know the difference.

I'll tell you in 600 miles or so if all this was worth doing...

Andy, congrats on getting your car back. I hope it is all you expected and then some. Hurry up and get that 500 miles on it so you can test it out. Guy

Thanks Guy,

I thought the LT4 came with red valve covers? Maybe I am thinking of the Z06.

My one valve cover is now all scratched up. Makes that radiator shroud I showed you look good--at least the shroud is not on top of the engine.

No, valve covers are black. The 4 chrome bolts are aftermarket. Did they scratch your valve cover when they did the engine work?
Every Weds, anytime after 6, we meet at Shopping center on Rt. 22, where Safeway is. We had about 30 cars there this past week. Come on up, just looking at cars and bsing. Later, Guy

Wow, that's gotta be torture to drive your baby for the next 500 miles under 2000 RPM's after those wonderful mods! :L:L:L

Mad Mic, I think it is called Greenbrier Shopping Center. There is a Safeway and an Appleby's Resturaunt. Guy

Guy,
I will have to try that--new to the northeast of Balt. though, I'll have to see where 22 is on a map!

Edmond,
Yep, it's hard not winding it up, but it's nice to drive it instead of the firebird.

RT22 is north of Bel Air. It is the road the Big M Drive-in is on.

about 2 or 3 miles south.

Sounds good. When the weather is nice, ussually 20 - 30 cars. Hey Andy, did you get that 500 miles put on this weekend?
