I tried doing some searches here but have not found any answers yet.

I have a 94 coupe with the standard seats and electric option. (not the sport seats)
I found out how to remove the bottom seat cushion but the back :confused :confused :confused
My helm & Haynes manuals only show how to pull the seat completely out, not remove just the cushion.
I wanted to remove it from the frame to clean it up and treat them inside where it is warm and cozy :D

I found one thread about the 93 seats but it sounds like they have a back plate where my seats are covered front to back.
Looks kinda like a zipper running up the center of the back.
Just can't seem to find the zipper pull to open it?
Maybe it is just for decoration ?

Any one out there do this before ?
I figure somebody must have replaced the leather on their car at some point.

Thanks guys !

You grab the side of the cushion and push towards the rear of the car as well as in towards the center or the seat at the same time. There are hooks that snap into the foam of the cushion that you have to unhook by this method. It's easy once you see it.

There is a coat hanger like frame in the cushion...actually a bit larger then coat hanger material. The back of the seat has 4 hooks, 2 at the top and 2 towards the bottom. The hooks go towards the middle of the seat. You will need to put your fingers underneath the cushion and feel for the hooks, then push the cushion in towards the middle until the frame slides out from under the hook then lift up. Then go to the one at the bottom, once the 2 on one side are loose just pull the cushion towards you and it should come out. Putting it back in place can be a bear, I fashioned a strip of flat steel and made vee at one end and used it to push the frame past the hook and pressed down on the cushion while removing the flat bar. Good luck...

Seat back removal 91-95?

A reading from the holy book ( seatback removal)

1993 GM service manual
Verse 10-10-7
Seatback cushion-Sport seat

Remove lumbar hose connection
(at bottom of seat right side)

Push in (towards center of vehicle) on outer upper side of seatback cushion approximatley 5 inches down from top of seat. While pushing, insert hand
( or suitable tool )
between seatback cushionand seatback frame until fingers ( or tool ) reach outer bolster wire. Push in on wire to dislodge it from clip.

Pull seatback cushion towards door to dislodge inner bolster wirefrom inner clips.

fold seatback cushion foward & down.

Unclip lower retaining rods from lower clips.

Remove seatback cushion while guiding retaining rods down & out from behind bolster driveshaft.

Clear as mud right?

So the foam of the seat cushion has a big spring ( coat hangar ) running all around the side of the foam.. you have to push in ( read double grunt ) to get the wire out from under a clip holding the foam down & on the "Clamshell" ..seat back.

Everything else..I dunno.

Vig!
