95 brake smell

I've had my 95 for about 6 months now, and really love driving it. However, I have one concern. Whenever I brake kind of suddenly, I really get a brake smell from the front, like they're overheating. I have 65K miles and the front rotors are worn quite a bit more than the rears. It just seems that vettes have had historically really good brakes, and smelling them after coming to a quick stop in traffic is aggrevating. Other than the smell, they work fine.

Were the front pads changed right befor you bought the car?

It had good pads on it, but I changed them out, just to be on the safe side. So there can't be over 5K on them.

Was there any type of break in procedure? Such as some panic stops from 60?

I found most new brake pads smoke and or smell for a while after installation.
